ABOUT THE BAND
How They Got Here
Blending storied lyrical melodies with heavy-hitting rhythms and overdriven, chorus-laden guitars, For A Dollar has crafted a unique indie rock sound that draws from each member's individual musical influences. They work hard to avoid conforming to any one genre, embracing a diverse and evolving style all their own.

In 2018, Noah Carter (Guitar), an instructor at Carter’s Music & Art School in Clarksville, Virginia brought together current students of the school, and close friends of his to create a band. Braiden Burke (Vocals), Cade Bohannon (Guitar), and Jonathan Guynn (Drums) were his first choices. Students Emily Morrison (Vocals) and Zachary Davis (Bass) were later invited to complete the lineup and For A Dollar was officially born. Through extensive lineup changes, personal growth, and the synthesis of their own unique sound, the band has formed a tight bond of friendship that is apparent in every aspect of their music-making.

Hailing from Southside Virginia, For A Dollar has stayed busy extensively touring Virginia and North Carolina, from D.C. all the way to the Outer Banks, playing packed shows at some of the region's best college venues, breweries, and parties. For A Dollar holds the distinction of second place in Longwood University’s 2021 Battle of the Bands and performed as an opening act for Sara Kays during Longwood’s 2022 Spring Weekend Bandfest. In 2023, For A Dollar was featured in Evince Magazine and highlighted as an up-and-coming artist by Voyage Raleigh.
